Prof. D Pasupathi (Former Principal, Sri Venkateswara College of Music, Tirupati and former Vice Principal, Kalakshetra) is a music composer without any sort of contemporary compromising attitude, and a musician who is not touched by the modern approach to Karnatic music. His long tutelage under experts such as Mysore Vasudhevachar and Papanasam Sivan has given him perfect musical wisdom in presenting the kruthis and ragas.
He taught Annamacharya songs as well as classical kruthis to many at Thirupathi as a Professor in Music. Pasupathi is a senior, very unassuming and dynamic musician with long experience also in Kalakshetra and on his own. He composed the music for a dance production on Thirukkural by the Dhananjayans for which the dancing legend said “my choice was right, he delivered the spirit of Kural through his divine music.”
