Jathiswarams, also called Swara Pallavis are more sophisticated than Gīthams. Students for the first time get to sing phrases where more than one swara are sung to a beat, or example two and four and helps in improving Rāga (Melody) and Layagnyāna (sense of rhythm) of students. It is very rhythmic and beginners, especially kids love it. These compositions also form a great repertoire for Bharathanātyam.
